Frequently Asked Questions
Starting therapy can bring up lots of questions. This page covers some of the most common queries people have when searching for a therapist in London. If your question isn’t answered here, please feel free to reach out.

For most clients, weekly sessions are the most effective way to see real progress. Meeting regularly helps keep the momentum going and ensures that the insights you gain in therapy can be applied right away. This rhythm supports stability, which is especially helpful when dealing with stress or burnout.
For those who have been with me for a year or more, we might consider moving to fortnightly sessions. This can work well when you're focusing on long-term maintenance or adjusting to life changes.
Ultimately, the frequency of sessions is a team decision based on your needs and goals. We’ll check in regularly to make sure it’s still the right fit.
-
Everything you share in therapy is completely confidential. Creating a safe, private space for you to speak freely is central to our work together.
There are two exceptions to this:
To provide the best support, I sometimes discuss my work with a trusted professional supervisor.
If I believe you may be at risk of harm, I may need to take action to ensure safety. If that happens, I’ll do my best to discuss it with you first.
If you have any questions about confidentiality, don’t hesitate to ask—I’m happy to clarify.

How long therapy lasts depends on your unique needs, goals, and situation—there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients come in with specific challenges, like navigating a life transition, which may be resolved in just a few sessions. Others may face deeper issues, like chronic stress or burnout, that take more time to work through.
Therapy is a team effort, so we’ll regularly review your progress and adjust as needed to ensure we’re on track. The goal is always to help you make lasting, meaningful changes at a pace that works for you.
In the end, the duration of therapy is something we’ll decide together, based on your goals and how things are progressing.

The UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice does not allow the use of testimonials. This is to protect client confidentiality, as sharing details about the therapist-client relationship could be a breach. It also helps prevent the creation of an unbalanced power dynamic between the therapist and client.
