PSYCHOTHERAPY + Internal Family Systems THERAPY
Supporting your growth and wellbeing in London & online
JENNIFER PIRTLE, PgDIP, UKCP, BACP
A bit about me
Originally from the US, I’ve made the UK my home for the past 25 years. Before becoming a therapist, I lived the fast-paced life of a workaholic—first as a journalist and magazine editor, then as a founder of a successful events company, and a leader of entrepreneurial spaces.
Those experiences gave me a deep, firsthand understanding of the pressures that come with creative and high-performance careers—the constant drive to achieve, the weight of responsibility, and the toll it can take. Growing up in a military family, I also know what it means to be uprooted, to move between cities and countries, and to start over … again and again.
After a lifetime lived in three major cities, I recently shed my city-girl skin and settled in a quiet village along the River Thames just outside London. These days, I split my time seeing clients in London three days a week while enjoying a slower pace of life by the water. I also run, paddleboard, and dig my allotment to stay grounded.
How I work
Most of my clients arrive at therapy feeling “stuck” in some way, whether at a life crossroads or weighed down by unresolved pain or grief. They’re looking for a collaborative, warm, and honest therapist who creates a safe space for growth while offering gentle challenges when needed.
My main approach is Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), which helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself—especially those holding pain or protection—to build self-awareness and inner strength.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I also draw on Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transpersonal, and Existential therapies. Creative methods may also be part of our work, depending on your needs.
My role is to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help you uncover patterns that might be holding you back.
